Windows 8 has arrived!!!

Microsoft has released a 90-day trial version of Windows 8 Enterprise Edition for developers and IT professional to build and test Windows 8 apps. So that the apps could be made ready before the Official release of Windows 8 by 26th October.

Don't worry if your not a Developer or an IT professional, as Microsoft does't restrict you from downloading the Trial version.

The Windows 8 trial version on offer is available in both 32-bit and 64-bit flavours. Its available in the following languages: Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), English, English (UK), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish.

There are some downsides to this trial version of Windows 8. After the 90th day of installation, you need to re-install your old OS or you need to buy a full version of the Windows 8 when it is released and install it again, as you would't be able to upgrade to the new version of Windows 8 from within this trial version.

Microsoft, in fact, advises that you install the trial edition in a virtual environment or on a separate hard drive or partition.
"If you fail to activate this evaluation within the 10-day grace period, or if your evaluation period expires, the desktop background will turn black, you will see a persistent desktop notification indicating that the system is not genuine, and the PC will shut down every hour losing unsaved work," the company says.
Here is the minimum System configuration to install this version of Windows 8:

Processor                  : 1 Ghz or faster
RAM                            : 1 GB (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space     : 20 GB
Graphics card         : Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver

Not to worry, as Windows 8 works on the same hardware that powers Windows 7

Microsoft has also released an Release to Manufacturing  (RTM) final version of Windows 8 for MSDN (Microsoft Developer Network) and Technet subscribers.
