*Facebook users may soon be able to edit their status updates!
Yes! Every Facebook user at least once would have experienced
that awkward moment of realising all typos or misplaced words or at least a
double ‘the’ after posting the status. That embarrassment may end soon as the company
is thinking of adding edit feature to user’s status updates.
The social networking
site allows editing feature in Photo posts and recently added edit feature to
the post comments. Now, the company is hinting that the feature may also be available
for status updates.
This feature will surely avoid embracement as the only way
to correct all the typos now is to
delete the post an repost it correctly at least the second time.
Addressing at a journalism conference Vadim Lavrusik said:
"On Facebook, you can edit captions and you can edit
comments. You can infer what we will do next”, he added "I can tell you
that users have asked for (editable statuses) a lot and a lot of times that's
how we develop things."
If Facebook does implement the editable status update
feature, it’s probable that it would use some of the features that’s in
the added for comment editing.
In the editable comment ,a full history of the
original post along with the final edited version is displayed which help
prevent a user from posting one thing and then changing it later in order to
trick comments.
